Whooooah foreshadowing!!! I don’t really have much to say about this page that’s not already on it and I’m pretty exhausted right now so I’m not so sure how articulate I can be, anyway. I’m so tired right now that I almost wrote “foreshortening” instead of “foreshadowing” and the more I look at it, the less either of them seem like actual words.
So obviously words on not my strong suit at the moment. To make up for that loss, I give you… a very cute drawing of a raccoon from Freewheel: Chapter Five!
He’s really quite small on the actual page, but I liked him so much I just couldn’t keep myself from showing him off. He’s quizzical!
I’ve been hard at work on Chapter Five, the final chapter in Freewheel: Volume One, and it’ll be finished in just about five more days! So exciting!
Speaking of Chapter Five, if you want to read the first five chapters of Freewheel several months before they go up online, you should totally consider contributing to the Freewheel: Volume One Fundraising Campout! We are still just $868 away from goal and there’s only slightly over ONE WEEK LEFT to contribute!
Anyway, thanks for reading and I’ll see you on Monday! Hope you all have great weekends, wherever you are!
My dad was an amputee! Not to celebrate it but I appreciate it as a face of character. These pages look great.
Thanks! Yeah I like the way the pages look a lot more starting around this point. These are the pages I drew not so long ago, in mid-2009 I think, so they’re much more reflective of where I’m at art-wise presently.
The story of How Old George Lost His Leg/Foot is coming up in Chapter Four! It features a Young Fingerfoot as well as a Young Old George (who was just Young George then). There’s another amputee character coming up towards the end of Chapter Five as well (she’s missing an arm). I figured world-wise that there should be a few amputees because they seem much more likely to have disfiguring/disabling accidents. You know, falling from trees, getting run over by trains, etc. It’s not something I plan to comment on within the comic, but rather something that should just exist in the world, if that makes sense.
